missing operating system

I have an Asus notebook and I attempted to restore my system because I had accidentally deleted pretty much everything and when the restore was running my battery died and now when I turn it on all I get is, "missing operating system". What should I do?

Specs: Windows 7, 64bit, Asus laptop model number X44H

don't do a restore on battery... plug it in, do another factory restore
