Missing PCIe slot, how can I get my MOBO to boot?

Hello,

My motherboard is an MSI z97 gaming 7

Mistakes were made and I came home to a graphics card still attached to the PCIe slot, hanging off of my motherboard. I was able to remove the graphics card, but unfortunately, not without removing the PCIe slot from the remaining 4/5 pins that were holding it to the motherboard.

When I try to boot my machine now I get an error on my motherboard's LED debug display that indicates that the motherboard is stuck on process 03 (north bridge initialization). I have checked the ram, I have checked the CPU and the only thing it could be is the missing PCIe Slot.

I have two extra PCIe slots that I can use for my GPU if the motherboard is able to get past the north bridge stuff. My understand was that the motherboard wouldn't care of the PCIe slot was ripped out, could it be the bent pins? I have cleared my CMOS multiple times.

Could someone please assist me in getting this thing to start up? I can provided any information (including pictures/videos if need be).

Solution
It might cost you $50 to have the motherboard repaired by MSI.
That is probably cheaper than buying one used on ebay.
Otherwise, it is toast.

Perhaps it is time to consider a cpu/motherboard/ram upgrade.
Why would you think the motherboard wouldn't care if the PCIE slot was ripped out? If you ripped the plugins of an electrical socket out, do you still think anything else downstream is going to work?

Yes, there are motherboards that exclude the PCIE slot(s), but they are soldered that way as to maintain the circuit.
