I recently got a new home PC. I plugged our external hard drive into it and everything seemed to work. However, one of the files named Photos which stored a lot of Photos. When you click it it says you do not have access and in properties it apparently only takes up 0 mb? When I went to Storage on settings and click on the hard drive it says photos takes up 24.6gb but when you click to view the folders they do not add up.

I am currently using Windows 10 and have been on the old computer. The old computer has been on windows 7 though when the photos were added. Other than that every other folder can be opened and works.

Any ideas?:??:

Solution
It sounds like a classic permissions issue. You do not have read access to that directory. You could potentially take ownership of it if you're an admin. Otherwise, you've been locked out.

Sorry for the late reply,
Thank you for telling me what the problem could be. Could you possibly link me to a video showing how to to this properly?
