Missing Post-Crash Graphics Card

New member here, but I'll try to keep this short:

Background: From what I can tell, the graphics card in my MSI laptop (a NVIDIA 675MX) crashed while I was in the middle of a game (everything froze for over 15 minutes). After restarting, everything on my screen was super-huge, and it shortly blue screened. After restarting (again), my display was normal, but Windows (7, in case it helps) said it was installing the integrated graphics, and all games I've tried to play are subsequently using that.

The Other Stuff: The NVIDIA card won't show up in the Device Manager, even after checking for hardware changes, and trying to install the drivers brings me an error that says I don't have any NVIDIA hardware in my computer. My fan, battery life, and power button (my MSI model's power button glows orange when the dedicated GPU is running), all act as though the NVIDIA card is still running, though.

Bottom Line: I'm basically looking for help on what happened/how to fix it. Would a BIOS update help, or would reinstalling Windows? Or, worst case scenario, is my graphics card fried? If updating the BIOS would fix things, I'd love some help figuring that out.

Thanks for all your help, and sorry for the long read!

You nvidia GPU broke as often happens with nvidia mobile GPUs. if under warranty send back. if not ask for repair cost. if they won't. well you got shafted by nvidia like many people. use it as is or buy a new one. maybe you'll get $50 off the next class action suit
