Installed W10 clean earlier after formatting the SSD and HDD in the set up. Was on Linux ubuntu but now W10

Installed W10 to the SSD, however it's saying I have 60gb free of 111gb ( my SDD is 120GB ) where has the missing space gone ?

The " Windows " folder is 15GB

Solution
Well, that's why you have only 60gb free.

If you are asking about why your SSD shows as 111gb rather than 120gb, this is completely normal.
To a hard disk manufacturer, one KB is 1000 bytes, one MB is 1000 KB, and one GB is 1000 MB. Essentially, if a hard disk is advertised as 500GB, it contains 500 * 1000 * 1000 * 1000 = 500,000,000,000 bytes of space. The hard disk manufacturer thus advertises the disk as a 500 GB hard disk.

However, manufacturers of RAM don’t sell it in even groups of 1000 – they use groups of 1024. When you’re buying memory, a KB is 1024 bytes, a MB is 1024 KB, and a GB is 1024 MB. To work back from the 500,000,000,000 bytes above:

Basically, your SSD and Windows report capacity differently.

So CS go is 20GB which brings it down to 91GB ( from 111GB ) and then W10 is about 20GB which brings it down to 70GB, is that right ?

Basically, what you're seeing is a couple of things:

  1. A Windows install is much more than just the "windows folder"
  2. A 120GB drive is TooSmall, especially if you wish to include a game on it. I gave up on a 120GB SSD as the OS drive years ago.
