Missing Sound, but speaker is ok

this has been happening from time to time. It would go away after I "play" around the "sound and audio device" and "speech" under "control panel". I never knew what i had done to bring the sound back. The sound is now missing again, and the "magic" doesn't work. Please help. I know for sure is not the problem of hardware, nor the wireless connect. It's something wrong with the software. I also tried to locate and reinstall SynVol32.exe. Again, it's not the problem. I have volume control bar icon. The synvol32.exe is in the right place (i think) in the C drive.

Download the latest driver for your sound card, remove the existing audio devices from Device Manager, install the new drivers from your download, try again. Make sure your sound card is set to the default audio device in Control Panel.
