Hi

My today I booted up my PC and it didn't connect to WiFi like it always did.
In the WiFi list it shows all of the neighbours connections but not my router.
Strange thing is that phones and other computers connect just fine.
I tried resetting modem, router and the PC.

Solution
I solved the problem on my own.
My WiFi adapter used channels 1-11 but my router used channels 1-13. It seems that the router had switched to channel 12 or 13.
Same problem. Win7 computer in same location finds home network. Win 8.1 cant find it. And as you say Neighbours are there.
After all the below blog I tried removing the power form the router and resetting it after restoring the power and my hidden network is now there and it connected. Suggest that computer has to be on when you do this.

Weird thing is the Win7 computer is connected to <network name> but the win8.1 computer is connected to <network name> space 2
The Win8.1 is also now seeing <Network Name> i.e. it seeing 3 networks from the same router.
Have not had the Missing WiFi problem with Win7 but have had WiFi limited with both op systems.
Tried restart,
Tried disable enable in Device Manager.
ipconfig /renew does not work.
Switching the Adapter on and off did not work
Restart did not work
Maybe try removing the battery.
I have a separate router.
Resetting the Router sometimes works for “limited” Wifi but not this problem
Resetting combined router modem would require a reset up for the IP.
Ipconfig /renew does not work
Disable Enable, Right Click in Device Manager does not work

With the Limited problem I thought it might be that I have about 9 neighbours competing for channels. Router has 13 channels.
Tried reserving DHCP addresses for each of my 6 computers but that did not help.
Tried making the network hidden no luck again – sometimes it comes up and other times it does not. This did not fix either problem

Another thing - try putting the Wifi antenna of the router up higher or get an external antenna for the router.
Or get one of those wifi repeaters and put that higher.
Wifi repeaters can be obtained that work via the house AC power wiring. You plugin 2 boxes.
