I upgrade my DVD firmware by using MTKFLASH, but it seems like it upgraded the firmware to my CD-R. It causes me unable to run or boot my CD-R. What can I do to fix this mistake? What I should do to fix it back?

heh.
this is definately "in hindsight" advice, but useful for everybody who reads it.

when flashing devices its best if that drvice is alone on the Channel. no big hastle pulling the plug on the other drive for 5 minutes.

if u cannot flash the cd-rw back then you will have to get a new one! :frown:

Sorry, you're out of luck :( ROM = read only memory. Firmware. It is an embedded chip and you can't go back now.

Award (the company that makes much of the software for motherboards BIOS) often cautions about flash writing. Only run from MS DOS mode, always restart your computer and reset your CMOS via jumper switch (this is in the case of a motherboard though, obviously not a burner or DVD).

This type of process should be taken very seriously, it is not like updating drivers where if you make a mistake you can always go back.
