can I mix 2 manufacturers of memory?
can I mix 1333mhz memory with 1600mhz?
Does buying 3 2gb sticks works the same as a 3X2bg kit?

yes but not always a good idea,
yes but it will all run at the slower speed i.e. 1333
and a 3x2Gb set is selected at the manufacturers because the three sticks 'match' 3 seperate 2Gb sticks may not go as well together
