I recently bought 2x8 gb 3200 rgb Corsair ram, currently I have 4x4 gb ballistix 2666 ram overclocked to 2933
Will it be okay to just install the new 8 gb sticks and keep the other two to make a total of 24? I know the ram speed will lower but will it lower to the overclocked speed? Or should I take off the overclock? Any answers are appreciated thanks.

Solution
The Ryzen 7 1700 max specification for the memory controller across 4 DIMMS is DDR4-2133. With 2 DIMMS, it is DDR4-2666. I would just use the 2x8GB at 2666MHZ with that CPU unless you are doing something that needs more memory (pretty rare).

BTW I have a ryzen 7 1700, will it be a huge advantage from the 3200, or does it not matter

Honestly don't see the benefit of your purchase. You can try and see if it will work at 2933mhz,but mixing ram can be difficult especially with two manufacturers and also different speed.
If I’m being completely honest I had the money and wanted RGB ram since a lot in my build is Corsair it would match well and I like the idea of 3200 speed
