MIXED NETWORK

Currently I have this setup:

> Motorola Surfboard Modem (TWC). IP: 192.168.0.1
Desktop 1 connected to port 3. An ethernet cable run to my office.

> Netgear N900 Wireless Router IP: 192.168.1.1
Connected to modem. Few thing connected to wireless router ports, printer, computer.

Ethernet cable runs out from Cable Modem into office to a 8 port switch.
Multiple computers, printer, DirecTV and SlingBox Pro connected to switch.

This is the only connection that work with SlingBox. The ethernet connected to the cable modem.
When I connect it to wireless router, I cant see the slingbox on network.

I want to be able to see all devices connected to the network.
WIRED AND WIRELESS!

Currently, I can only see Wired Devices on Wired Network.
Wireless devices on wireless network.

I am willing to reset modem and router to default settings and start over if I can get detailed infor how to correctly connect this together. It seems that Im running to different networks.

You are running two different networks 192.168.0 and 192.168.1

You'll need to merge them into a single IP address range, I would put the wireless router on the wired network and assign a high static ip address that DHCP is unlikely to use

How would I do that? Do I change the ip address from my wireless router to the ip address of the cable modem? Would that be the only change I make?

The Wireless router that I have is a Netgear wndr4500 n900
When I change the LAN TCP/IP Address to 192.168.1.201
And I deselect Use Router as DHCP Server and click apply,

I get the following message:
http://192.168.1.1 The IP address conflicts with the WAN IP subnet.
Please enter a different IP address.


Where do I go from here.

I did find a setting to change the router to AP mode.
Once it rebooted, I lost connection to the router.
I do see all the computers on the network now. I think I have it set.
I am unable to connect to the wireless router setup page.
how would I find the IP address for the router.

Well, the easy way to find a routers ip address in windows is to do run->cmd->ipconfig /all and look for the gateway address, but I think you set it up as a repeater which is fine, but you won't be able to see it on the network any more.

If that is the case and you need to change some settings the only way is to reboot it, usually by sticking a paperclip in the little hole, reconfiguring your settings and resetting it as a repeater.

It looks like everything is working except is there a way for the wireless router ports to work.
I can't connect with them. Should they work being setup this way?
The ports on modem are working.
