Hey there,

I've been an overclocker for a while an when this situation arose, I was thinking that I'd have to abandon half of my ram. My configuration:

AMD Phenom II X6 1100T
ASUS Crosshair IV Extreme

2x2GB Patriot Signature 1600 CL11 1.5v
2x2GB Corsair Dominator 1600 CL9 1.8v

So the Signature set is somewhat new but I haven't been able to get them to boot together. I'm sure I could find some way to boot them by trying to find the right speed/timings but I'd like to have them both at 1600 and then adjust timings later. The current voltage is set at 1.6v as I don't want to damage the 1.5v ram. I've been reading around on various forums which say it is/isn't safe to run 1.5v ram at 1.8. Want to get some more opinions on this before I ramp up voltage gradually and try to get them working.

Cheers

to be honest that high voltage ddr3 has long been discontinued - you would be far better off not using it seems to me it was ddr2 converted to/first run ddr3 ic's or something 1.8 volt ? wow also there maybe more to that above due to motherboard compatibility

that high voltage for ddr3 at any timings seems extreme - I think you would be far better off investing in a nice 2x8gb kit @ 1.5 or 1.35v

what tradesman1 says may work but I just don't know how stability will ??

Thanks Tradesman1. I was trying at 1.7v with various timings and couldn't get it working but that setting did. I'll be looking to get a 16gb kit in the near future so I'll just have to use this for now,
