mixing 2 sets of the exact same ram

if I were to buy two sets of 4x4gb corsair dominator platinum ram, and install it in my computer, would there be any issues at all? if so, please describe what they would be and if there is a fix for them. thanks!

Why might you do that instead of 4x8gb or 2x16gb? The more sticks you use, the more stress on the memory controller.

To your question, no way to know without trying. Ram is sold in matched sets for a reason.

A lot is going to depend on your motherboard and CPU. The memory controller is in the CPU now.

If you are trying to attain dual channel operation, that can be achieved by reading the motherboard manual and installing the RAM in the correct slots.

If you are trying to attain quad channel operation you will probably need to buy a single set of modules that is rated for quad channel operation and also used a quad channel motherboard and CPU.
