Hey, people. I come to you guys because i haven't found an answer that fulfills my needs and i've searched quite a lot.

I'd like to know if there's any problem on mixing 2 different brands (say Corsair and Kingston) for my PC's RAM.

Right now i have 8Gb (2x4Gb DDR3 1600Mhz) Corsair Vengeance LP RAM sticks on dual channel. My mobo has 4 slots and i'd like to get either 4Gb (2x4Gb 1600Mhz) or even 8Gb (2x4Gb) Kingston HyperX or any other brand and put them on the other 2 slots to take advantage of dual channel. Would it be ok? would i have any performance/compatiblity issues? Does the timings on the sticks affect performance in any way on this even if the clock speed is the same?

Thanks beforehand.

It is never recommended to mix brands or even models with in brands. Identical sticks are the recommended way to go. If you must mix within brand then setting all the parameters and voltages in the bios should be done to match the slowest set in the match.
