Mixing Copper + Nickel?

Hi all.

I am planning to build my first custom loop. However, I am worried about galvanic corrosion caused by mixing different metals. In my case, it's copper and nickel due to copper rads and nickel blocks.

As for coolant I intend to use EK Cryofuel. Will this cause problems or not?

The nickel should only be plating given it's EK, the heat sink itself is still copper.
Whatever you do don't get pure nickel parts from anywhere or anything. 😉
What's your system?
They have a great configurator now I believe, go for soft tubing, top mounting in your case (if possible, google it and adjust rad accordingly) and a serial flow.

Thanks man :)

My system consists of an i7 6850k @4.3GHz, 32GB Corsair Dominator (4x8), ROG Strix X99, 1080Ti FE, H100i GTX/V2, 4TB WD Green, 3TB WD Black, 500GB 840 EVO SSD, Corsair HX850i PSU, Vibox Predator case (MODDED)

The different metals have to be in physical contact and have electricity passing through one of them for galvanic corrosion to occur. The typical solution is to electrically insulate one of the metals.

Since your radiators and cooling blocks won't be in physical contact and have electricity passing through one or the other, it won't be a problem.

Corrosion isn't the issue with plating so much as flaking off and clogging the pump. Good quality units should have Coolants that are tolerant to all materials just like your car. Any metal over time will corrode if exposed to high heat and a fluid that breaks down to a point the ph gets out of balance but in a PC that process would be many years of 24/7 use with the same fluid.
