I have a GIGABYTE GA-EP45-UD3R right now with 4GB of GSKILL 8500 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820231166

I had another machine I'm not using anymore that I thought had the SAME exact RAM, so I was going to put it in my current machine with the above RAM for a total of 8GB. But turns out it is 4GB of GSKILL 8000 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820231145

My question is can I safely mix the two on my board? I know they will all probably run at PC2 8000 if added together. Woudl this be safe? I'm assuming I'd need to put the 8000's in my primary slots and the 8500 in my secondary so all of them would run at 8000. Or would I be just better off buying more 8500? All of them are CL5-5-5-15.

Thanks!

^ Perfect!
First I put the 8500's in the primary ram slots, and the 8000 in the second but it would post and then reboot automatically. Then I switched them by putting the 8000 in the primary slots and 8500 in second slots and it booted right up. Thank you!

Perhaps I should start another thread, but would it be ideal to play with the timing of these? If so where would be a good place to start?
