Question mixing M.2 SSD's

My first time on any forum forces me to appologize in advance for stepping on protocol.
Does anyone know if 2 different M.2 SSD's (manufacturers) can live together without fighting, on the same motherboard?

I have 2x intel 660p 1TB sticks of SSD on my mobo. Can I make them look as 1, or can I keep them separate? Are they faster together?

No they are not faster 'together'.
Just leave them as individual drives.

And for drive compatibility?
I have 7 drives, 3 different makes, 2 different types in my system.
