Question Mixing Memory Sticks (3 Brands for 32GB - DDR4)

Good day!

On my MSI B250M Mortar Arctic, I do installed these memory sticks:

DIMM 2A - 8GB Kingston DDR4 2400 MHz CL15
DIMM 1A - 8GB T-Force RGB DDR4 3000 MHz CL16
DIMM 2B - 8GB Transcend DDR4 2400 MHz CL15
DIMM 1B - 8GB T-Force RGB DDR4 3000 MHz CL16

The two (2) T-Force RGB RAMs are identical. And the other two memory sticks, are identical in specs, but in different brands. Can I run this configuration for 32GB in total?

Usually you want a kit for RAM as that ensures stability. It is possible that you will not have any issues with the configuration, but it would only run at 2400MHz. I would say give it a try and see if it is stable.

You are mixing 3 brands with different specs on all three (CL/Timings/Voltage)

You may get them to work, but it will be a real pain. Chances are you will have to run them at the lowest speed (2400mhz) and CL 16 or higher to get them to run together, but also adjust timings. It's possible, but not advisable to mix DIMMS like that.

That is what I am thinking sir. The 3000 MHz is the XMP of my T-Force Delta, where it will run on 1.35V, right? If T-Force Delta will run on 2400 MHz, it will be 1.2V sir, am I right? So all of the DIMMS will run at 1.2V each? And on CL16?

You can use Prime95 or AIDI64 to stress test the RAM.

I already on 32GB Configuration, here is the CPU-Z Details on SPDs:

I am now testing the RAM via Prime95.

I'll run this for few hours.

I stress test the memory modules for 6 hours and I think it is indeed pretty stable, no issues tho.

And lastly, even if I have 3000 MHz Modules, I am on Kaby Lake with B250 Chipset, thus will only run on 2400 MHz, right? Because it is the maximum frequency my motherboard and processor support, right?

But if that extra 16 GB memory is that important to you, it is your choice.

For gaming yes that speed difference will cost you more than 16 GB less memory. But if the computer is not a gaming computer, it is more than OK, as it runs OK.

I see sir. But regardless of the speed of RAM, still it will run on 2400 MHz, right? Because of the 7th Gen. (Intel) Maximum Speed?

Oh well, all the memory sticks are running in CL17.

Not suggested to do so. This will lead to poor performance and unstable timings of RAM
