Mixing Memory Sticks

I have found 2 other sticks that add up to 16GB. I know one of them is bad, but before putting them in, I ran into this.

Current RAM
Crucial Ballistix Sport 1600MHz
DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800)
Timing 9-9-9-24
Cas Latency 9
Voltage 1.5V

RAM I want to add:
G.Skill Ripjaws F3-8500
DDR3 1066 (PC3 8500)
Timing 7-7-7-18
Cas Latency 7
Voltage 1.5V

The timing, speed, and Cas Latency are different. I was wondering if my Motherboard (ASUS M5A97) Will automatically adjust the higher speed one to work at the same speed as the lower clocked one?

Solution
There are no guarantees mixing RAM like that. That said, experience says it will more than likely have no issues, It will default to the slower 1066 RAM though. You might need to play with timings (CAS, etc) if it doesn't initially play nice, worse case should be the 9-9-9-24 timings at 1066.
