[SOLVED] mixing perpendicular and horizontal hard drives

Currently my workstation has two SATA 80GB, 8MB cache hard drives (Seagate ST380815AS) which are horizontal recording. I plan to replace one of these hard drives with a Seagate 7200.10 ST3750640AS 750GB 16MB cache which is perpendicular recording. Does anybody foresee any conflicts, or have any advice? The 750GB is for data storage, the OS would be on the 80GB.

The internal recording methods of the disks are completely invisible to the host system. Only the drive controller on the disk circuit card cares about details like these.

I forgot to mention that the data transfer rate on the perpendicular drive is twice that of the horizontal drive.

Not surprising. With the price of 500GB SSDs down under $70 there is no reason not to just use SSD for most things. Then you REALLY see a speed up.
