Mixing ram sticks

Hiya,
I currently have 8gb of ram, (2x4) I am getting 16gb more at Christmas (2x8). Will I be able to mix them and use both or just stick with the 2x8? I have a gigabyte 78lmt-usb3 motherboard. It will be the same make and speed. Thanks!

I believe that you can. I'd suggest putting them in separate channels just to be safe (channels = same colored slots)

Give them a try, might or might not work. If they don't want to play give me a shout and we can try some voltage/timing adjustments 😉
