Mixing Ram

Hi.

I just got 2 x 4 gb of Vengeance ram sticks as a present for my new computer. I already have the exact same model installed (timings, speeds, brand) except, this one I got installed already is a low profile..

Does that matter?

They will match and not give you any problems. The only difference between the 2 seems to be the fancy heat sinks.... gives you an added advantage I think, if you have a aftermarket cooler that has a problem with tall heat-sinks in the first 2 memory slots you could always use the Low Profile ones in those slots and yet accommodate the aftermarket CPU HSF...

Oh really? Because I've been wanting to do that, but the mobo manual said I should fill up the 1. and 3. slot first. But now that I got 4 sticks, I can put the to low profile in 1. and 2. and the two normal in the 3. and 4. ? That would be great!

Yes, you can put them anyway in you feel that's right cos technically nothing is different except for looks....
