Mixing SO-DIMM and DIMM DDR4 RAM

I am thinking of combining 16 GB(2x8) DIMM with 8 GB SO-DIMM. They should be equal in lenght - the only difference I could establish is in the number of pins - 288 vs 260. Will it fit? Will it work?

SO-DIMMs are not the same length as desktop DIMMs. You can't mix the two on any device I know of.

So dimms are usually used only on laptop mothrrboards

Available in ddr, ddr-2, ddr-3 and ddr-4
Usually low voltage type


Standard desktop type are ddr, ddr-2, ddr-3 and ddr-4
The sockets and dimm modules are designed so you cant fit the wrong module in the wrong socket
