Mixing two ram speeds good?

I have a ryzen 3 2200g, with ab350m motherboard and i already have 1 stick of 2400mhz 8gb ram and was wondering if I should buy another 2400mhz stick of 8gb ram and if it would run smoothly?

it's not a good idea to mix and match ram. there is a 50/50 chance it will work and if it does your system will likely be unstable. if you are looking to upgrade to 16GB buy it in a kit of 2 or 4 sticks

Getting unmatched ram to work together is propblematical at best, impossible at worst. Even the EXACT SAME stick may not play well with the old stick, especially if purchased at a different time or vendor. Even the manufacturer won't support unmatched ram to work together. They sell matched kits of ram for a reason. If you could get just any two sticks of ram to work together, there would be no need for matched sets.

The fact that Ryzen is very picky when it comes to ram in the first place doesn't help this situation.
