[SOLVED] mklink

I have used mklink to store files on a drive other than the C:\ SSD drive. As far as I aware this executed satisfactorily (link icon showing on the relevant folders on the C drive). However, there does not seem to be any gain in space on the C drive, and the folders still show all the files in them (The original folders were renamed -old and when everything was shown to be working, they were deleted from the C drive) Thanks for any help.

Perhaps I should explain that the drive is used primarily for Microsoft simulator FSX. The scenery add-ons are installed on the C drive and take up a lot of space. That is why I have used mklink to have them on another drive but linked to the C drive so that the application can find them that way.

Why mklink? Windows 10 is really good at just having regular access to other drives and drive letters.

You can save to D:\MyOtherStuff as desired, and have that folder appear in QuickAccess, or on the taskbar, or wherever.

Thanks for the reply, but I am using the SSD drive for Microsoft FSX, and the scenery add ons are installed on the SSD drive, but linked to on other drives. I have many drives on my two PCs.
