Question Black-screening with MLLSE AMD RX 580 8GB 2048SP GPU ?

Could it be possible that the standard 500w PSU on the HP EliteDesk just doesn’t have enough oomph to run the MLLSE AMD RX 580 8GB 2048SP GPU ?

the PC just closes down when it hits a stressful GPU bit in a game. I bought a new 650w PSU, then someone suggested flashing the GPU, but surely a full system shut down would point more to the PSU, which may be a few years old.? 🤔

HP have a number of EliteDesk prebuilt under the portfolio, which one are we talking about here? TO add, what is the part number/model number for your PSU? Are we looking at a unit that came from the factory(as in' it's been used)?

Hi, it's an EliteDesk 800 G3 I bought on the bay,

Before it arrived I picked up the RX 580 GPU as the plan was to upgrade the PC to a budget gamer, (I did the "can you run it" test and it will run RDR2 and GTA5 at high level).

The CPU is an i7-7700 and RAM is 16GB. I think as standard they came with low wattage PSUs but at some point in its life it had been upgraded with an HP 500w one. The person I bought it from had used a low profile GPU but the RX580 has its own 8-pin power input.
