when i was younger we had this cd that had 99 dos shareware games and other things like something called cakewalk (no idea what it was) and i think it also had a midiplayer called willowpond on it and to access the games you had to go into dos and into the cd and just type fun.exe and then there would be this big list of games

does anyone know where i can find a copy (it had freeware and shareware stuff so i'm assuming it was some thing like a cd that came with a magazine

(if i remember correctly mmcd = multi media CD)

just done a bit of googleing and found this
http://cd.textfiles.com/mmcd/

and from there i found this
http://cd.textfiles.com/directory.html

and it appears it was called
Multi-Media CD
Exploring the Boundaries of Sound & Vision

and came out November 1996

all of that sounds about right

Hi there!

I see you first posted this two years ago. I really hope you have found something. I remember that MMCD so well! My sister and I played it every day when we were younger. I would love to find this MMCD again. I was looking for it everywhere but this post of yours is all that the internet can offer me.

That is such a pity. I will continue a search and if I find anything I will let you know. Thank you so much for the reply!

I remember that cd as well. Looked through old DOS games and came up with a rough list from what I remember:

Pizza worm
Flying tigers
Crystal caves
Duke nukem I or II
Doom I or II
Gone fishin?
Commander keen
Jill of the jungle
Lemmings II
MinerVGA
wolfenstein 3d
Zone 66 (my favorite)

Also found this YouTube video of MinerVGA that has a comment that talks about the cd as well as how some of the games used soundtracks from other games/movies.

This makes sense because I swear the version of Doom had sound effects from the movie True Romance. Really threw me for a loop when I first saw that movie years later.

Edit: found it. Pretty strong considering I was 6, lol. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=sPwtTKEC48s

Still not sure where to find a copy. I know I've looked through the family's old computer stuff, but maybe I'll go through again.

Nostalgia overload:
