I'm going to be building a new system soon.

Thinking of using the i5 3570k http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819116504

And building around that.

Problem i'm running into though is the video card. Ive looked through and found various prices and core speeds and bits, and GB's.

Anyway I mostly play mmo's on the pc like ddo, gw2, ffxiv, EVE. And I do some FPS gaming as well (mostly the free ones but some bought.) So I was hoping you individuals who own said cards could give some insight.

I was thinking of the radeon 7850 http://www.newegg.com/Product/ProductList.aspx?Submit=ENE&N=100007709%20600286767%20600298542&IsNodeId=1&name=Radeon%20HD%207850

While comparing id found threads stating that nvidia was in fact better as far as smoother game play went. However nvidia is also quite a bit more in comparison looking at those 660's. So I ruled em out.

I'll mainly be using it to stream video from the pc to the 42" plasma, and sometimes gaming. Otherwise I play on my 20" screen at 1024x768. Though I could take it up to 1280x1024.

Yes I know a 7950 would probably leave me with less want but it's also $100 more or up. And while I do so wish I had a bunch of bens in hand, sadly bens a lil hard to come by these days heh.

So would the 7850 fit the bill? Would it play nice without giving the cpu the bird? Anyone who's running a similar settup or built one, tested one ect, all feedback is welcome.

Thanks.

whoops. It'll give you the performance of roughly a 7950 at a much discounted price. The different between Nvidia and Amd right now is the GTX Titan and power consumption. AMD tends to consume a few more watts this generation but generally gives better performance at a given price segment.
