mobile phone dropped to the floor several times and I found out the screen broken, would it release any harmful materials if I keep using it? It still works fine, only the screen obviously cracked

the only thing to worry about is the battery. they are toxic as well as a fire hazard if conditions are right. i'd have it checked out to be sure the battery is still in working order. if so, then using it with a broke screen is not going to hurt anything.

Can I test it myself to see if the battery is working in order? and How to ?

If it doesnt burst into flames in the first week, it probably wont burst into flames at all. (You know they only way to put a lithium fire out is to bury it in sand for a couple of weeks??)

The screen may release splinters, but there is nothing toxic in it; a plate glass screen protector will stop it from getting any worse, and if you had fitted one prior to the drop, might have saved the screen.

Depending on the phone, screen replacements are not too difficult to perform, and the screens themselves are usually not too difficult to find, or expensive to buy.

basically just open the phone up and check the battery to be sure it is in one piece. no punctures or dents in it. it is unlikely that simply dropping it would damage the battery but with multiple drops, it's worth looking.

youtube will have a video on how to open your specific phone so you can check yourself. better safe than sorry is how i tend to lean with this type stuff.

Do you mean to open up the back case and take out the battery, and check if it's intact on its appearance? My English is not good

or do you mean to "open the lithium battery" and look into it???

yes that is exactly what i mean. if you can get to the battery easily, then it should only take a minute to check it out.

i was assuming that you had one of those phones that did not have a replaceable battery and a youtube video would help you get it opened up. but if you got one that makes it easy then works out great for you :)

Yes, my phone is a replaceable battery and I just checked it , the battery should be alright

I don't mind using a broken screen, but it's like some slight " electronic " smell coming out, but very slight. Is it alright?

that i am not sure about. that smell could be a lot of things. in general odd smells should be checked out by someone who knows what they are doing to be sure it will stay working. likely coming from the screen but could be something else. hard for me to tell from here since i can't see/touch/smell the phone myself.

I was hearing about news about South Korean workers in Samsung who got
some kind of fatal diseases because of handling or exposure to toxic materials
during manufacture, In a broken screen, could it also release any harmful
materials??

that's outside of my knowledge base. though i would assume that repeated exposure over time to lots and lots of the toxic chemicals is what caused the issues with the workers. if there was an issue with exposure to a single cracked screen i am pretty sure we would have heard about it by now. plenty of businesses out there replace these screens regularly so that if the small exposure caused quick sickness we'd know by now.

educated guess but fits in what i know about our world. :)

If you are that worried about after the answers you got, replace the phone. The only real danger with a cracked screen is that you will cut yourself on it. The danger with working with chemicals and other hazardous materials is in how much there is of it, what form it's in and how long you are exposed. Someone that works making plastic from the chemicals is in a totally different type of exposure than someone that handles a broken plastic toy.
