We just bought a new router with higher wifi speed it is an AC 1200 dual band Belkin. When we had our Belkin N 300 router it was too slow for the internet but it got good distance with our wifi on our phones now that we have the 1200 series which is higher speed Internet we seem to be losing distance from one room to another in the signal of the wifi we can't even go 30 feet and we lose total wifi internet connection. Who is the problem with the router the internet or the mobile phone company?we have tried calling all three and each one passes the buck to the other. Does anyone have an answer?

Solution
It has to be the new router, since that is the only hardware that has changed. You can try to test this out by connecting back the old router as it was.

You can try some different settings on the new router to see if some other routers interfere or if another setting/channel helps with the distance.

If this doesn't help you can still use the old router besides the new one and still get the slower speed but the longer range on it, or use it as a wifi bridge/range extender.
