hey guys.

I went through the sticky's troubleshooting about perform these steps before posting... and breadboarding but I still cant diagnose the issue, so here I am..

sabertooth 990 FX (just got from friend unknown of condition)
all the rest was my everyday rig gear with no problems, just wanted an upgrade
AMD FX-8320 Vishera 8-Core 3.5 GHz FD8320FRHKBOX
HyperX FURY 8GB 240-Pin DDR3 1600 HX316C10FB/8 QTY. 2
Thermaltake Power Supply 240-Pin 850 Power Supply W0319RU
EVGA GeForce GTX 760

started the test out of box breadboarding and it cleared the dimms, cpu, videocard, and SSD OS
rebooted and was able to get right into BIOS started to make my changes and the screen froze. restarted and no warning beeps but screen stayed black and searching for signals (but didn't say no signal) 3 restart and same thing but now now power to keyboard or mouse.

here I started to do research and first I found that the voltage for the dimms are 1.65 and default is of course 1.5 but I didn't think that would cause this issue. checked the voltage on the cmos and it was bad so I replaced new. still no change boots just fine. researched again and found something about the vga be on dvi or vga when I was currently using hmdi. made those changes and did get my BIOS screen but no keyboard so had to restart. did again and back to black screen... I've cleared the RTC and even switched out another psu and video card and no change. I tried all PCI slots and moved and removed the dimms and used different slots and tried with just one.

I'm lost for ideas so anything you guys might have ill try and report back. thanks!

Combining single modules is not recommended and not guaranteed to be compatible together. Combining multiple singles is a combination never tested at the factory, thus no guarantee.

I recommend you return them and exchange for:
FURY Memory Black - 16GB Kit (2x8GB) - DDR3 1600MHz CL10 DIMM
Part Number: HX316C10FBK2/16

You should be able to use your current memory if using one module.

I believe Fury is plug and play with automatic overclocking to rated speeds and DRAM Timings. Of course, that doesn't apply to a mixture of memory modules that didn't come from the factory in a single kit.

thanks for your reply Calvin.

im doing a comparison on mine compared to the ones you recommended and to me they look identical. What's the difference?

HX316C10FBK2/16

HX316C10FB/8

What's the difference?

Increasing quantity to TWO means compatibility is no longer guaranteed. Multiple singles can cause the PC not to boot or be unable to operate at rated specifications. With PnP modules, they may be no longer able to operate at rated specifications of 1600MHz and Timing 10-10-10.

I suggest you contact the manufacturer if you don't understand the differences.

would a temporary work around be to insert 1 DIMM just to get into the BIOS to make the necessary changes within AI Tweeker?
