Hello! I've been having some very annoying problems with my MoBo and HDD.
My old Mobo (an ASUS P5GC-MX/1333 Socket 775 ATX) suddenly wasn't picking up my Sata HDD in bios, so I threw it in another computer and it at least detected it in that comps bios (it wouldn't start windows still). I also put in a known working HDD with the old MoBo and nothing came up. So i figured hey, it must be MoBo related. I went online to buy a replacement, they only had used boards at this point. So i bought a "refurbished" board for like 40$ or so. After receiving it and hooking everything up, i'm getting literally the exact same problem. No HDD Detected. I've tried putting known working HDD's in the "new" mobo and still nothing pops up.
So my question is; Is there something I'm supposed to be doing in Bios to make it detect SATA (its all in IDE atm)? Or am I just extremely unlucky with my "refurbished" mobo from a reputable seller on amazon? Maybe this MoBo is known to have faulty Sata ports (I couldn't find anything)?
Any ways I'm at a loss and after hours of trouble shooting I'm really hoping you experts can help a novice out. Thanks.
