Hi have a Motherboard question please:

I am building a Video editing work station. I am
following VideoGuys DIY9 Recipe.

http://www.videoguys.com/Guide/E/Videoguys+DIY9+Its+Time+for+Sandy+Bridge+E/0xe9b142f408a2b03ab88144a434e88de7.aspx

As they seem to know what they are doing and have
dedicated a website to it. They suggest an Asus
P9X79PRO there is also a WS version with 4x's the
Sli, a firewire, and an internal USB for securing a
'Dongle'...Other then that not much diff...
80 bucks more for WS over the Pro. I do not need an
internal secure USB for a Dongle. The chances of
me using 4 video cards is pretty slim. Even 3 is
pretty hefty. Along with a 380 price tag for their board

Referring to Video Cards I am building around a
Nvidia Quadro 4000 2GB of dedicated ram and ample
for video editing. $700.
If at a later time, I feel I
want more Zip either for the Battlefield or ?? I
would stab a GTX680 Nvidia with another 2Gb of
video ram.
This would all be coupled with the
Mushkin 32gb of Ram I am set to install.

Mushkin Enhanced Silverline 32GB (4 x 8GB)
240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1333 (PC3 10600) Desktop
Memory Model 994018
New Egg-Now: $169.99

As far as the Firewire goes I have a card in my
Dell that I should be able to grab from, and
install in this new build. The only thing I know
about this card is in the Device Manager it is
labeled:

Under my 'Device manager'/ "General" the Firewire
card is called a; (VIA OHCI Compliant IEEE 1394
Host Controller)

I went over to ASUS forum and asked with no help or
reply even filled out a question ticket, with no
response.
If my Firewire card is IN FACT compatible. No help
over there. So to me Asus is just another vendor
looking to make $$ and they are as good as the next
guy. I mean what good is a warranty if no one is
there to help with it? I understand that Asus is
the Military specs type builder, but my Sig Sauer
is also the choice of the Military and a Kimber is
a a nicer pistol...So??? I digress

Question #1
If my Firewire card is IN FACT compatible with
ASUSP9X79? Video Guys thinks it should not be a
problem. Anyone else know, or have an experience
with this? Double checking...

Question #2
The Mobo has a 5-1 surround rca jacks. Does this
mean it has the sound card built into it?

Question #3
If there is another board with just as good extras
such as Ieee firewire connects, able to run two
video cards and accept a 2011 socket like the Intel
Core i7 3930K I am going to run in it... I am all eyes &
ears. Your thoughts and why please.

Sorry for the lengthy post, but background is
necessary although the pistol comparison was not.

I don't know what case u are going with, but get .

@Nikorr
#1, Where is the FW card? In PCIE slot?

Answer- It is stabbed in the lower end of the MOBO in my dell 530 so the jacks are in the back at the bottom of the board. So that is..."I think so"

ASUS Sabertooth X79 - it has 1 x IEEE 1394a This is close to the same price of the p9x79ws

Q-1?-Is this a more stable board then the p9? Or is there a reason I am not aware between the two boards? I keep reading about BIOS Flash and updates. It sounds like a Compugeek dream. Which I am not that tech savvy. Obvious from my answer to PCIE slot question...

I am leaning towards getting one of these board with the IEE in it so I don't have an unexpected 35 buck bump or whatever it would be to get a firewire card....That build looks like a centerfold spread BTW in ComputerBoy Magazine!

That case is very Storm Trooper/ Hackintosh I must say... I was thinking of this one because of the fans and cooling Watch ya think?

Antec Dark Fleet DF-85 ATX Full Tower Gaming Computer Case
Amazon $140
http://www.amazon.com/Antec-Fleet-DF-85-Gaming-Computer/dp/B003JH7MIO/ref=pd_cp_e_3

Its OK case, but that rustic look is for gamers.

But if u like it, great, its good case too.

Although I could keep stepping up until I have spent 4000 dollars on this computer. I think this RAM will get me there fine
How does this save me $$ ?

But u should get really this one, and overclock it to 1866MHz, which with SaberZ77 mobo will not be any problem and saves u some $$ from the 1866 version : )

Mushkin Enhanced Blackline 32GB (4 x 8GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) Desktop Memory Model 994069
$209.99 + FREE SHIPPING

Opposed to this my original choice?

Mushkin Enhanced Silverline 32GB (4 x 8GB)
240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1333 (PC3 10600) Desktop
Memory Model 994018
New Egg-Now: $169.99

It is good to go out of the box without overclocking, which I know NOTHING about.BTW.

Nikorr Question: Whats your CPU cooler?

Answer: No water, not interested in putting water into my computer case. I do not think I will be O.C' ing my puter so the heat should be under 130F or 55C Right?

So I think this Air fan: Zalman cnps 12x low

I will check out that review of the MOBO link you placed. Yet, you did not reply about stability, or why the ASUS Sabertooth X79 VS p9 x79ws other then I can see it is <40.00> bucks cheaper, but what am I sacrificing/gaining?

Thanks for your input BTW

Another question about thes x79 boards..Like this description-

http://usa.asus.com/Motherboards/Intel_Socket_2011/P9X79_WS/#overview

(Pasted from link)
ASUS SSD Caching

3X faster performance at a click
SSD Caching from ASUS is easier than ever. At 3X faster, this feature boosts system performance by using an installed SSD with no capacity limitations as a cache for frequently accessed data. Harness a combination of SSD-like performance and response and hard drive capacity with just one click, no rebooting needed and instant activation for complete ease of use, and even prevent data loss with included backup functionality.

Are they saying this board already has an Solid State Drive? Or do I need to install one like this is what I was thinking-
512 m4 crucial 2.5 inch SS
Amazon-$400.
New Egg-$410

RAM disk? I will google it.

So that is a Yes on " I need to get SSD for the p9x79, it does not come with it?
512 for the computer and I was going with 1 to 2TB 7200Rpm for my storage. SSD is very expensive for that kind of storage...
