Mobo BIOS update safe?

So my mobo is ASUS P8H61-M LE. When I run msinfo32 so as CPU-Z, it says I have a BIOS version of 0401 American Megatrends Inc. 2/11/2011

But the thing is, when I check the BIOS versions for this mobo, I can't seem to find version 0401
https://www.asus.com/Motherboards/P8H61M_LE/HelpDesk_BIOS/

question is, given the situation that I have a really outdated BIOS version and the 0401 isn't even on the page, is it safe for me to update to the latest one directly? which is the version 4601.

Reason for me to do this is because I am having stuttering/FPS drop on my 1060 which I never had on my msi 1050ti gaming x. Tried different fixes and so I thought I'll try this fix since the PREVIOUS VERSION of the latest BIOS was 4501, and it says "Enhance compatibility with some PCIE device." so maybe updating and jumping directly to 4601 latest would help. Also, does the 4601 would include the 4501 fixes?

Really need advice on this.

GPU: gigabyte 1060 6gb windforce rgb
CPU: i7-2600
MOBO: ASUS P8H61-M LE
RAM: 8gb (x2 4gb 1333mhz)

Are you sure you have the LE?

The P8H61M-LX Plus has an 0401 (2nd release) BIOS.
https://www.asus.com/ca-en/Motherboards/P8H61M_LX_PLUS/HelpDesk_BIOS/

Slight variations of the board, have slightly difference BIOS numbers.
The P8H61-M LE/CSM, has 0402.
https://www.asus.com/ca-en/Motherboards/P8H61M_LECSM_R20/HelpDesk_BIOS/

While it's possible the BIOS revisions are interchangeable, there's a pretty good chance that an incompatible BIOS can brick your motherboard.

Be 100% sure which board you have, specifically - and go from there.

The first thing i would do is roll back your drivers to version 411.63, which in my experience was the last "stable" drivers, that may fix the issue. Below is a link to download the driver, download and extract the files to your desktop (or wherever suits you).

https://www.nvidia.com/download/driverResults.aspx/138070/

Once downloaded go into device manager and uninstall the existing drivers then install the drivers from the save location for 411.63

This may well fix your issue for you.

Updating the BIOS unnecessarily is always a risk. The first thing you must do is look at the motherboard manufacturer's site and see if they have an update available for your specific motherboard (close doesn't count here). Second, read the notes. If your specific issue/s are not addressed by that update then updating is not going to do a thing for you. Subsequent updates should contain all previous patches/updates. However, your mileage may vary.

I have already tried that driver version and stutter/fps drop is still there.

I have linked in my post the website for the manufacturer's page, I searched the right mobo but I can't seem to find my current BIOS version that's why I'm so confused. And the 4501 there says "Enhance compatibility with some PCIE device." so maybe it would help my gpu since its a pcie device right?

I have found a solution to the problem, I don't know what was exactly the problem but when I switched from windows 7 to 10, stuttering was gone, it still happens (sudden fps drop) but it doesn't happen as usually as before.
