mobo cpu compatibility

I need to find a list of compatible cpu's for an AMD m2n61-AX. I'm hoping an AMD FX 4100 Quad Core 3.60ghz will work.

That board is an AM2 board, and from the looks of it a Dell at that. The chip you want to put in is an AM3+. The board is listed as compatible with AMD Athlon 64 X2 Dual-Core, Athlon 64, Sempron.

Cool, thanks. I got the Athlon 64 x2 6000 Dual Core 3.1ghz. Do you think the stock fan will be enough? The stock processor is a Sempron 2.6ghz.

Without knowing what the cooler is rated for, it'd be impossible to say for sure. I'd recommend picking up some sorta aftermarket fan if one doesn't come with the X2 you ordered.
