Build Advice Mobo/CPU/GPU - - - new build questions ?

I'm researching a new build for gaming since I have another machine for the productivity end of things. I'm going on the premise that you build a gaming rig around the GPU, then fit everything else around that. I'm focusing on good 1440P capability and since some of the games I enjoy are just fine at 1080p.

I suspect I could rightly upgrade the CPU but I'm just not sure.

Here's the system I'm looking at building:

Motherboard: Gigabyte X670 Aorus elite AX

CPU: Ryzen 7700X

GPU: Radeon RX 7800XT

RAM: GSkill Trident Z5 RGB Series DDr5 32GB (2x16) 6000MT/s CL28-36-36-96

OS: Windows 11 Pro

PSU: Lian Li Edge Series-850W 80 Plus Platinum

I'm simply trying to avoid Bottleneck issues. Let me know if you need more info.

Any guidance you could offer would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks for the reply.
These are games I want to play and simply can't atm.

Budget is ~ $2K US.

Hell Divers II, MS Fight Sim, Civ 7, Outer Worlds. For starters.
Those aliens in Hell Divers won't stand a chance with this set up.

I'm a bit biased when it comes to intel, so forgive me if that is not something you want as part of your system. You can definitely substitute the motherboard for something cheaper. This system can handle what you are after with ease.

Thanks for all the good recommendations! I really appreciate the help.

I've rethought some things and realized I can do as well performance-wise with some changes.
I made a new thread, please don't bring the hate. :innocent:

X3d part CPU is superb with MSF. Nearly double the FPS with some GPU's.
