Mobo & cpu support doubt

heys frndz i got a new mother board ASUS m2n68-am plus

And i already have a Processsor AMD X2 250 (3.0Ghz).

so will the mother board support this processor or should i buy new one ?

When in doubt, just check the manufacturer website for the CPU compatibility list.

The Processor will work in that motherboard, need BIOS version 0701 or later.

so does it mean that am2+ socket supports am2 and the further sockets?
i acctually used to think dat am2+ is itself a special type of socket.

some CPU's can fit into both AM3 and AM2+, some can only fit in AM2+,

AM3 CPU's will work on most AM2+ boards provided the BIOS is updated to support them.
