Hey guys,

So I'm pretty new to building PCs and I have encountered a few issues. My PC breadboard setup switches on and the mobo lights up, along with all the fans (CPU, GPU, PSU) all working. The system did output once, showing the logo and asking you to press a button to enter BIOS. But I think I missed the time to press DELETE, and so I didn't get into the BIOS. There were no beeps , maybe cause I need to install the speaker. All cables are plugged in correctly, tried removing and re inserting ram, tried to reset cmos by removing battery and shorting the pins. I did notice that the gpu would get loose, and sometimes the fan stops whenevr I try to restart the system. I do occasionally move it to get it running again. Also, the mobo first posted when I was actually holding the gpu in the correct position, so thats why I couldn't press DEL in time.

Here are my Specs:

Ryzen 1700x
Asus Prime X370-A
Zotac GTX 1050ti, without the need for external power
Samsung 850 m.2 ssd 250 gb
CM Hyper212X.

Thanks!

Hey man, thanks for replying. The GPU is pretty small and most of its mass is below the pcie socket so it tends to lean towards the bottom of the mobo, will send a pic later.

Thanks!

Ahhh I see. Hmm that mobo does have reinforced first pcie slot so you shouldn't have to hold it, as once mobo's vertical, things will only get worse I'd think. It's kind of worrying. Most likely it's not sitting correctly in the slot or there's something wrong with the integrity of the pcie slot itself, but I can't recommend you try plugging it into the second one, because if reinforced one can't hold it, the non-reinforced one may come apart.
You're sure you've slowly rocked it on each side alternatively, while pushing down until it's sitting very firmly in the slot? (this if pushing straight down firmly isn't yielding desired results)

Will install the motherboard onto the case so I can secure the gpu, then I'll try again. Wish me luck!

Good luck :) Worst case scenario, if it does show significant sag and possible signs of tearing the pcie slot, you can always prop up the card with something. In fact on amazon there are adjustable little plastic props for video cards for just this use, if you want something slightly more professional looking.

LOL. I tried it again with the GPU in place and I tried posting with the psu switch the other way. It posted and I installed windows 10. Put it back in the case, still works. This was a few days ago and I forgot to solve this thread. I changed the RAM position, secured the GPU and also tried switching on with either of the PSU's back switch position :" I" above the "O" and vice versa.
