MOBO for intel i7 4790k?

So I want to stick with the 4790k as it's base clock speed is 4.0ghz and it is a great cpu. But I do want a motherboard that has thermal armor.

Some of the nicer boards have 1151 sockets, and not 1150 sockets.

So I was thinking either the Asus rog maximus formula 8 or the asus rog maximus hero alpha with a different cpu.

But that would cost a lot more.

What do you think I should do?

Why?
What reasoning do you have behind wanting a motherboard with thermal armor, and it sounds like you already have one?
You really wont gain anything from it, nor do I recommend spending that much on a motherboard.

Even if you plan on overclocking, most z97 boards will give you that, no need to jump to the most expensive motherboard.

An ASrock Z97 extreme 4/6 would do you enough. If you want a little cheaper option, a Z97-A or Pro would be just fine as well.
