Sup guys, i've been wondering what mobo can i get for my future ryzen 7 1700x and what RAM i will benefit more from it too.

I was thinking in the Asus Rog Strix B350 mobo, i'm not an OC enthusiast, i have a Noctua NH D14 and will only get the best OC i can get from it, doesnt matter if its 3.6 or a 3.8, i dont want a watercooler for a better OC.

People said that the asrock x370 models are better ones, but for OC only i believe.

Is it worth getting the Asus Rog Strix B350? i intend to use this build for a couple of years(3-4+ actually)

And what ram frequency you guys recomend? i was thinking in 3000 MHz G Skill(maybe) or HyperX Corsair Vengeance.

appreciate all the help in advance

i dont kinda get it, from the same asus rog strix b350 mobo i can get different ram compatibility?

At launch, Ryzen motherboards were extremely picky about the RAM it could use.

All motherboards have a QVL (Qualified Vendor List) for RAM which has been checked for compatibility. Any RAM not on the list may work but there is no certainty. With a new platform which is still developing, especially for those who aren't particularly tech savvy, it's more convenient to stick to the RAM on the QVL for assurance.

I just upgraded to a Ryzen 5 1600, ASRock AB350 Pro4 motherboard and G.Skill 2x8GB RAM (3200 MHz) with no compatibility issues thus far. But RAM speeds may be limited depending on the motherboard BIOS and AGESA as I understand it.

If you already have a Noctua cooler, check you have the AM4 bracket to install it if you intend to reuse it for a Ryzen system. I believe Noctua will send out brackets if you can provide proof of purchase, otherwise you'd have to purchase the bracket.

i bought the bracket already, and i got it, i will check the QVL for my mobo model, thanks!

NO, they all get the same ram compatibility, just that mobo, for an example, may not support ddr4 4200 ram, and that is a bios issue, but it got better, you *should* be fine, but its always nice to double check

oh, i got it! thanks dude, it helped alot
