[SOLVED] Mobo got burned next to cpu power cable

Computer stopped booting, I suspected it was the power supply.

I was in the process of removing the old power supply cpu power cable, was having issues so husband decided to try it.

I was watching and he basically tried to strong arm it out as the clips on the cable were giving me issues, I immediately stopped him as I saw the board bending.

I took the time to get it out without any further bending to the board, get the new psu plugged in and yay, it boots... but has an orange glow coming from there the cpu power plugs in.

I immediately turn it off with it smoking already, I look inside and the surrounding part of the board is blackened and singed.

My questions are, is there anything else that could of caused this, and despite the cpu power cable looking fine, should I even bother with using it and risking another mobo? I'm guessing the answer to the second question is no.

Solution
If everything was properly plugged it's probably the PSU that did this.

What is the new PSU that you installed? Brand and model?
