MOBO/GPU compadiblity?

H guys, I recently bought a Sapphire HD6950, it was thought faulty, as well as a PSU i bought from the same place, all i would get is the post beeps that match with the MOBO manual saying graphics card error. I tested it on a system built 2 weeks before hand with that same GPU, his worked, mine didnt. the Mobo is a Gigabyte Z68X-UD-3R-B3, i was wondering if its a compatibility issue? the graphics card was sent back and they said that it worked perfectly, and advice would be greatly appreciated

Did you try clearing the MB's CMOS by removing the battery for a time?

Have you got all the correct power cables plugged in? Requires TWO 6-pin connectors I believe.
