iv been thinking about swapping out my current b450 m for the

B450 AORUS PRO WIFI (rev. 1.x)

an swapping out my 1660 super oc for

a powercolor-fighter-radeon-rx-6500-xt-oc

the performence compare looks good

radeon-rx-6500-xt-oc

an might be worth the buy to gain a perform boost

an better compatibility with

krita an other apps on linux

unless the bandwidth chop from pci 4 to 3 makes them even will it be less then
the 1660 , if the were the same while running at pci 3 id still go for it

what do ya'll think ?

id hand down the current b450m an gpu to my sis as she got just a 2700x , ram

case , psu fans an etc but no mobo an no gpu well not a new she got a

very old 1gb 460 evga from her first pc that was also 12years old

Solution
Don't. It's a waste of money, ingame performance is identical, in most games the 6500 XT will outperform the 1660 by a couple of frames (in 1080P Ultra settings), but in some games the 1660 outperforms the 6500XT.

In other words, save up for a more worthwhile upgrade.

Didn't even mention the motherboard upgrade as you only really mention it in the title, haha. But same goes for a motherboard. Upgrading to B550 doesn't give you much of a feature update. X570 motherboards could do that, but the question is if it's worth it for you.

There's a table on >this website< that will explain the differences between the chipsets. Might help you make a educated decision. :)
