[SOLVED] Mobo not detecting video card

Hi all,

I have been running with no discrete GPU since i built my new rig (waiting for new cards to come out) and finally installed an MSI ATi 360 (was given it). It appeared to be new as it still had covers on all ports and PCI express connection. I installed it and cant get any output on it (BIOS or windows 10) and Windoes 10 does not detect it in device manager.

Ive tried:
Different power cable
reseat/change PCI port
update BIOS
confirm BIOS is set to PCI express as default
Fan does spin (with or without 6-pin connected)

When monitor connected to HDMI, it does not say 'cable disconnected'

Mobo is an MSI Fatal1ty z370 Gaming k6

Ive run out of things to try and exhausted google.

What port are you trying to use on the card?
Is your monitor only VGA?

Are you trying to go HDMI on card to VGA on monitor , is so you may you need an ACTIVE converter adapter.

No VGA ports involved... I wrote VGA referring to the graphics card (i edited it out)

Faulty card if your powering it and it's not detecting it.
