My specs are.
Mobo. Biostar tpower I45
Cpu. Core2quad q8400 oc @2.88 via automated o.n.e v12 (mobo feature)
Ram. 4x 2gb = 8gb
Storage. 1 80gb sata wd, 1 80gb ide samsung
Psu. Outervision 600watts
Gpu. Palit gt 610 2gb

I only use cpu 4 pin instead of 4+4. Seems to work though

So I added 1 screw to support motherboard exactly at the top right corner hole. When I turned on, I heard a pop sound followed by burnt smell.

I sniffed the smell fee minutes later and it traces back exactly at the top right corner where I put new screw.

I checked and I think I kinda over tightened. I dont want to service this right away. I tried removing all including cpy, reset cmos. It turns on, restarts, then on again. It can stay powered on but will never boot. Fans are working, led lights on, but there seems no cpu activity nor mobo because hsf remains cold, no video, nor any USB.

Pls help, thank you. Tell me whar info you need more.

I havent tried other psu nor other mobo.

The loud 'pop' and smell is likely a blown capacitor- I can't think why putting a screw into a mounting hole would do that (it could be unrelated to be honest). If a capacitor on the motherboard has blown then you need to replace the board. You could try a different PSU just in case that is what has blown however it sounds more likely the board is dead- hopefully nothing connected to the board has failed with it....

I don't know how to reply here. Im using Chrome mobile.

Cdrk. How is the screw not relevant? It's well maintained except I only mounted the left side of the mobo. I added only a single screw and then there was a pop. Is it possible I overtightened?

I really love this gaming mobo and I hope I can find solutions

@supahos

Omfg im so stupid. I just searched what is standoff. Apparently I grounded my pc. There was no standoff in that hole. Can it still be fixed? That explaind why the smell is isolated in that hole

All you can do now is unscrew it and hope whatever blew up wasn't something you use (different PCI slot, ram channel you don't use or something similar) if it blew something important you're screwed (pun intended) all you can do is get the board ungrounded from the case and see if it works

It is almost impossible to have only that one standoff missing.
If all of the others were there, and you attempted to screw in a single mount screw with no standoff...you'd be bending the motherboard at a significant angle.

My guess is that all the others are missing as well.

So I tried to fixed it. Resit everything. Pc turns on for few seconds, then off, then on again but no boot.

So I bought new mobo, new psu. same scenario, on for few seconds, then off then on again. I tried to keep it on but it will never boot. Led kights on cpu gpu fans spinning, but no boot. The same happens on the first motherboard. I already used my old ram, but I don't hace substitute cpu nor gpu but will it's the same even I remove the gpu.

Is my cpu dead? I also changed cmos battery, reset cmos.

So I found out something new. When I click my mouse it shows different of led but the button used to switch sensitivity and led does not work.
