Firstly, any help anyone can give me would be GREATLY appreciated here as this is so stressful.
I just assembled my PC and the little green light on the motherboard is powered on, but there's no power anywhere else.
---------------------------------------------
My setup is:
PSU: CoolerMaster 500W GX-Lite (as a side note, this was the part from my previous pc which I know works - but, is it compatible with the below additions?)
CPU: i5 4460 (this was bought second hand from CEX, could be a problem, but I'd want to rule everything else out first)
CPU Cooler: T 212 EVO
GRAPHICS CARD: I have ommitted this as I don't think it's necessary. But it's a GTX 970.
Motherboard: z97-GD65
RAM: 2 x DDR3 CORSAIR 1333zh
Opitcal drive and HDD.
-----------------------------------------------
The connectors I have in the motherboard is:
1) 20+ 4 pin connector for the power to the motherboard (this one is very, very tight when I insert it, and difficult to get out)
2) 4+4 pin connector for the CPU power (this one is also difficult to get in/out. I'm pretty sure I'm using the right one because the only other cable left is the ones for the GPU)
3) CPU fan into CPUFAN1
4) Hard Drive and Optical Drive into the SATA Ports
5) USB cable into USB1
6) AUDIO Cable into Audio1
------------------------------------------------
So I've read lots of articles and researched what could be causing this as well as thoroughly checking the manual. The steps I have taken so far is:
1) I have reset the CMOS by taking the battery out for 10 minutes and putting it back in. Also by pressing the CMOS button.
2) I have breadboxed
3) I have checked the CPU for any bent pins.
4) I have checked under the motherboard to make sure the offsets are in the right position.
5) I have tried just one stick of ram in the first ram port.
--------------------------------------------------
I have just a few questions. Would that PSU even support all of this? You know the CPU power cable? It has squares and also cornered boxes? These ports don't match what is on the CPU power on the motherboard. Some are squares when they should be some rounded squares.
Are all my parts compatible?
I cannot even post!
Thank you so much.
