I'm currently building a budget PC and I want to know whether an ASUS® PRIME A320M-K Micro-ATX AM4 motherboard would work with a Ryzen 5 1600, 8GB Corsair Vengeance 2x4 DDR4 2133MHz and an RX 580 8GB GPU. Also please tell me what PSU I should use. I'm not an expert in these things so some advice would really help, thanks.

That is a sweet rig.
The ryzen 5 is 1.st gen mainstream with a base clock of 3.2GHz 6 core processor it should go well in hand with the Asus prime A320M-K Mobo.

the ram blocks are ok, but i would put 2x8gb instead for only 2x4gb because most games requires more.
you must also account for the OS windows 10 and all the other stuff you'll have in the background while you are gaming that also requires allot of...

The RX 580 8gb gpu has Base Frequency of Up to 1257 MHz and a Boost Frequency of Up to 1340 MHz, power consumption is: Typical Board Power (Desktop)185 W and a PSU Recommendation of 500 W. Though the 8gb ram is really sweet because you can run a resolution of 1920 x 1080 DX 12 with a lot of high to ultra texture details in games, i would dare to say that would able to run DEUS-EX Mankind Divided on "very high" not ultra though
.
As for a PSU i would go for the Corsair series just keep it to 750 watt or over, because you'll need the headroom with that gpu and that cpu under heavy gaming load.

Cheers! 😀

Solution

Thanks for the reply! I was just worried that the mobo wouldn't be compatible with the processor. Also, isn't a 550w PSU enough for this setup? I've heard many people say that even 400w is enough.

The graphic card it self, as i mentioned is recommended a 500 watts psu.
You've got consider that even if you buy a 550 watt psu that, that psu dont have 550watt it only has lik 400 watts to give. they're always lower than what they claim to be to be able to give.
So to be sure and take account for the recommendation from AMD of what psu to buy for the rx580 i wouldn't go lower than 750 watt it gives you a headroom of 200 watts which is really great.

So the short answer is no an 550 watts psu isn't enough.

Cheers!
