mobo questions and build questions.

1. i just got my mob back from asus from the rma and i have a psu i don't have a cpu or ram or gnu for my build yet is it safe to just connect the 8 pin cpu power connecter and the 24pin connector to it?

2. also whats a good m.2 storage device out there. and should i install my os on it?
my mob is asus prime z270-a

Umm, why would you want to connect the pins to the mbo if u got no components, lol?
Anyway, you can, sure, why not.
Samsung makes hella good SSDs, both NVME M.2 and the SATA ones.
Yes, it's a great idea to put the OS on it.

umm to make sure it works but wouldn't that damage the board cuz the power doesn't have anywhere to go to for the cpuor ram
