Hello!
Here is what I'm wondering. The motherboard I'm looking at has FSB listed 1333/1066/800 MHz, the CPU it takes is also specced at 1333 FSB but when I look at memory upgrade information in specification the only RAM speeds listed are 1066 & 800 MHz. What gives? Will i wreck my motherboard if i slap 1333 MHz Ram on it? the motherboard I'm looking at is HP IPIEL-LA3 (Eureka3), no official manual for it, just specifications on HP website.

Right, that I know. But why can't I use 1333Mhz RAM? If CPU is capable of 1333MHz and mobo has 1333Mhz listed wouldn't I slow performance by putting 1066Mhz RAM? If I'm correct the system bus will run at the speed of the slowest component... Or is RAM bus speed isolated from CPU? Is DDR3 same as old DDR where you could insert higher speed ram, but it would default CPU FSB rate?
