MOBO RAM Support

If I have a MOBO that supports a base MHZ of 2133 but my ram is 3000MHz, could I boost the base speed of my MOBO to meet the sufficient speeds of my RAM? I have the Corsair Vengeance LED DDR4 3000 RAM and an ASrock Z270 Killer SLI/ac. I also have a locked CPU.

Why did you get a locked CPU with an overclocking motherboard?

You should have bought a K - i5 or i7 , then you could run the modules at 3000.

well i have not bought any components yet but that is good to know. Just to confirm to run my RAM at 3000MHz i need a K model CPU

OK cool. And to get the MOBO to run 3000MHz is there a way I can go into the bios and change the speed it runs memory at or will I have to overclock the CPU to get it to raise on its own?
